How to Win in"Mafia Wars"
Mafia Wars is a fun game that is played online through your Facebook account. Best of all, it's free. Here's how to play so that you get really good, level up quickly, and carve a place for yourself in the world of "virtual Organized Crime".
Tips To Win Fights
01.Enhance your Mafia Family
A bigger mafia always win more fights! Regardless of level, you can use 501 Mafia Members (i.e. you + 500) in any fight. The nearer you are to that number, the better off you are going to be!
02. Levelling Up!
It is not necessary to leveling up to put more points in defense or get more mafia members. Getting out of the low levels early is important for property health - players at higher levels do not rob as often, if at all. Why? Because it is not worth the stamina. Fighting yields more experience and has a chance to drop the best weapons (AR-15s), vehicles (Humvees), and job items (like blackmail photos) that the high level players need.
03. Make sure your mafia is equipped.

Mafia members are only as strong as the weapons and armor you give them. Be sure every mafia member has a decent weapon, armor, and vehicle to use.
What is the best weapon in Mafia Wars?
In Mafia Wars, not including reward points weapons, the TNT is the best weapon for attacking, and the Gaff Hook is the best weapon for defending. TNT is dropped from the "Raid the Arms Depot" job and the Gaff Hook is dropped from the "Pillage a Shipyard" job. If you are going by combined stats, TNT has the highest at 62.

04.Keep points on Attack
Even a full mafia with the best equipment will struggle if there are no points in the attack category. Even if you are following the leveling guide, at some point, you will need to put your stat points in "Attack" if you wish to be successful in attacking a lot of players. The formula for attacking other player seems to use attack as a multiplicative function - that is Mafia Size and equipment alone aren't enough to win fights, you need a solid combination of both of these factors.
05. Never waste godfather points on reward items
Reward items flat out are not good (maybe the developers will improve them in the future). The weapons, armor, and vehicles rarely have much more attack or defense rating then what is already available through jobs. Sometimes it is even worse! Rather than get the reward items, spend your points on the +4 stat upgrade, and put points in attack. This will do much more for your fighting ability then buying these items.
06. Avoid to put people on the hitlist.
Never put someone on the hitlist. Not only the person you put a hit out on rob you repeatedly, but also his will friends attack you. When someone posts a hit, their name is shown on the hitlist as well. Some bored higher level players get entertainment out of robbing and attacking people who put out hits rather than attacking for the reward money!

Warnings
- Don't fight the same person too often. You might incite "cyber rage" if you do, or find yourself on the Hitlist often.
- Don't waste too many skill points increasing your Health. As you reach higher levels, you can always pay the Hospital to restore your health fully, and it is easier to make money than raise stats anyway.
- You can buy Godfather points with PayPal, but beware they can be expensive. It may be better for your budget to simply limit your game play (i.e. 30 minutes per day)
- Don't become too addicted to this game. It's free to play if you are reasonable (or really good), but if you develop an addiction and find yourself buying Godfather points constantly, it can get very expensive.
Does the Godfather points (#4) include the items you can buy? I'm referring to the "weekly specials".
ReplyDeletewhat about the mystery crates? are they worth getting?
ReplyDeleteWhen I fight, I always get the message:
ReplyDelete"Remember: You can fight with up to 501 mafia members, and each can use one weapon, one armor, and one vehicle!"
It says that as if I didn't fight with as many of my mafia as I could have. Is it really suggesting that I can configure how many mafia members I use in a fight? If so, how do I do that?
thank you for sharing such lovely insight. ive noticed that my inventory of guns keep reducing. chain guns reduced from 100 to 40. what could be the reason for this.
ReplyDeletethe inventory number shows 100, but when the battle stats are shown, the number displayed in 40.
thanks.
i have the same observations with the above comments. some mafia wars players higher than me in level said, i should equipped my mafia members the same number of weapons, armors and vehicles, i did this. but the battle stats shows that differently. there are cases that the battle stats shows the opponent has more men than mine, my stronger weapons were not used, etc. pls comment on this, i want to know why?
ReplyDeleteThe type of weapons which your mafia is going to use in the fight, is determined by the game itself. Don't get upset by seeing your mafia is not using all the equipments of your choice. They are using some better weapons from your inventory itself. Suppose, you are having a mafia of 100, and 100 chain guns in your inventory. When you attack some player, first preference will go to those arms having maximum attack. So in stats you will see, XX number of AR-15, yy number of Para 322, 78 (imaginery)number of chain guns. That mean your 22 mafias are using some weapon with better attack than chain gun. Similarly, when being attacked, the items having maximum defence points will get the priority. That is why the selection of items get radically changed when you are attacking to the time when you are being attacked.
